Where to Shop Locally for Christmas

Ty Copr shop, Anglesey

North Wales is a special place to shop for Christmas. Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy are home to many unique products which are stocked in many of the local stores.

Shopping independently means you will be supporting the local community. All of the shops listed below supply locally crafted and organic products.

Shopping within these local businesses does not necessarily mean it will be more expensive: Hampers can be created to suit your budget, and there are many options for stocking fillers (I’ve compiled a list here).

Don’t forget about all of the local food and craft fairs that are happening this year: Click here to find out what is happening in your area.

Ty Copr, Penysarn

A wide varity of locally crafted beers - many of the gems stocked at Ty Copr

Many consider Ty Copr to be a hidden gem on Anglesey, however it is well known with the locals.

The family run gift shop is a treasure trove of local goodies: The shop manages to fill the compact space with an array of local products, as well as handmade gifts.

Ty Copr can personalise a hamper to any size or budget for Christmas and any special occasion. Last Christmas, Kath, one of the owners of Ty Copr, put together a fantastic selection of chutneys, crackers and mini bottles for my Grandparents for the bargain price of £15.

In their own words, the Hawarden Farm Shop champions great products from the earth, trees and fields around them.

The farm shop not only houses a food hall, but a fantastic bakery, deli, and cafe. It may be in Flintshire, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

At the front of the Menai Strait, you will find Halen Môn and it’s charming shop. As well as stocking it’s own award winning range of salt, condiments and sauces, it has a fine collection of other Welsh products.

If you cannot make it to the shop in person, have a look online.
