Ffika moves to Iard Hendre

A sneak peak at Ffika’s new space (Source: Facebook)

Ffika announced on social media that they have joined Iard Hendre in Bangor, and are planning on hosting food pop-ups, music events, and supper clubs.

Ffika are known for creating innovative menus by using locally sourced food from their funky yellow and red food truck. They had a successful cafe in Llanwrst, before deciding to focus on events. The workshop space at Iard Hendre will allow them to host more pop-up food and music events: Something that will go down a storm with locals and students.

I spoke to Meg, one of the owners of Ffika, about what they have planned for the immediate future, and why they chose Iard Hendre.

The Ffika fried chicken burger: ‘Expect more finger food’

There are lots of reasons why Iard Hendre is a perfect location for us. Firstly, we know we have a big following of local people spread across Gwynedd, Conwy and Môn, so this seemed like a fairly central place for us to base ourselves to be accessible for all these local customers. It’s also a great place to travel to our events from with it being close to Eryri and close to the A55.

Iard Hendre is an exciting community of local makers and creatives so being a part of that feels really special.

We have also been wanting a space that allows us to put on our own pop-ups and events which the Iard is perfect for. As many locals will know, Hendre has held many great events across the years and has connected Gogledd Cymru through events of all kinds over the decades. It will be a great pleasure to connect more people at the venue through good food.

This new chapter is really exciting for us and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all at our first pop up which we will be announcing soon.

As usual we will be focusing on creating innovative street food menus which blend the great seasonal produce we have available to us locally, with some inspiration from our years spent travelling.

Expect more finger food, dirty loaded fries and some old Ffika favourites. As always we will serve local meats but will also always have vegan options available.

We can’t wait to feed you all at the Iard soon. For now follow our journey on Instagram where we will announce all our pop ups and events.
