After four years of trading, the owners of Y Garreg are hanging up their aprons.

Jack Cunliffe and Finn Smith (pictured) took to Facebook to announce the news.

We have decided to close this chapter and (somehow!) move on from Y Garreg. After 4 years of hard work, amazing people, lovely food and a whirlwind of events and emotions this journey is sadly coming to an end, and what a journey it has been.”

What a beautiful challenge it has been to grow this business from the rubble that we inherited to the thriving, buzzing community hub it is today. We see there is still so much potential here, so much more to do but sadly we are no longer in a position to captain the good ship Y Garreg, we are moving on to new challenges and it is time for someone else to take the wheel.”

They make special mention of the welcoming and supportive community, and the ‘incredible staff’ that have helped, especially during the Covid-19 restrictions.

Y Garreg are looking for new owners to carry on the business in a similar vein, and to have the right energy and great attitude. For all enquiries, contact jackcunliffe11@gmail.com.

Y Garreg will remain open until they have someone to take over, so you still have time to try their breakfast, lunch and pizza menus for the rest of the summer!
