Set on Castle Street, just a short walk from Castell Conwy, Trancio has become one of those places people recommend before you've even asked where to eat. Part coffee shop, part pizzeria and completely independent, it's a place that effortlessly takes you from your morning coffee to an evening pizza, all while championing quality ingredients, slow-made food and a genuine sense of community.
Inspired by Northern Italian food culture, Trancio focuses on artisan pizzas made with carefully sourced ingredients and dough that's fermented for at least 24 hours before being stone-baked. The result is a base that's light, airy and crisp, with just the right amount of chew.
Alongside classic favourites, the menu regularly evolves with seasonal specials, giving returning customers something new to try while keeping much-loved staples firmly on the menu.
If you're visiting during the day, you don't have to commit to a whole pizza either. Freshly baked pizza by the slice sits alongside focaccia sandwiches, making it an easy lunch stop whether you're dining in or taking your food to go.
Mornings begin with specialty coffee and freshly baked pastries. Their coffee comes from nearby Heartland Coffee, a local roastery with close ties to founder Billy, who first discovered his passion for speciality coffee while working there.
As the day moves into the evening, the atmosphere changes too, with handcrafted pizzas joined by cocktails, local drinks and a relaxed setting that's ideal for date nights, family meals or catching up with friends.
