Inside the New Spring Menu and Brunch at Galeri Caernarfon
Galeri Caernarfon has launched a fresh Spring menu, bringing together comforting classic flavours with a few modern twists.
Head Chef Nikki and the team place a strong emphasis on sourcing locally, with many ingredients coming from businesses right on the doorstep. All of the meat is supplied by O.G. Owen Butchers, just around the corner from the restaurant, while bread is picked up fresh from Fabian Bakery. Coffi Dre supplies the beans, and even the jam is sourced locally from The Jam Lady, who has a shop over in Cei Llechi.
With this combination of quality local produce and plenty of homemade elements, the dishes feel fresh, hearty and full of flavour.
Highlights from the new menu include a Mexican-inspired Huevos Rancheros, the Galeri Caesar Salad with their house-made Caesar dressing, and an open prawn sandwich that makes the most of simple, well-sourced ingredients.
They also offer daily specials, and their lentil dahl was a favourite of mine. The generous portion was warming, comforting and packed with flavour.
Alongside the new dishes, Galeri has also expanded its brunch offering with a full traditional Welsh breakfast served all day, plus vegetarian and vegan options. One of the more unique additions is a breakfast-style Rancheros dish served with hash brown puffs; a playful twist on a brunch favourite.
Located on Victoria Dock, Galeri is one of Caernarfon’s key cultural venues, home to both a theatre and cinema. The café enjoys beautiful waterfront views, especially on a sunny day.
Galeri café is open to the public and is also a great place to visit before attending one of their shows.
Nikki and the team are also excited to launch an evening menu featuring homemade small plates, open to the public.
For now, brunch is served Monday to Saturday from 9am-12pm, with lunch available from 12pm-4pm.
With its focus on local produce and relaxed waterfront setting, the new Spring menu at Galeri offers a great excuse to stop by for brunch or lunch in Caernarfon.
